Fireman Tuesday

Today there was a fire truck parked outside our house while they where doing routine checks on hydrants on our street. They let the kids explore the inside and ring the bell.
I'm bummed this picture turned out blurry.

Liam ran around the outside to check things out.

Charlotte was entertaining the firemen with stories about her green house.

Random September

Above: Charlotte getting on her harness. She saw the climbing wall at the Fall Festival and begged to try it.
Getting ready....

She wasn't hesitant in the least.

she made it almost half way up and then she started getting frustrated.

Newest Reno's

ABOVE: Me and Vanessa
BELOW: Vanessa enjoying Lake Superior

Leslie Wilson, Erin Sandstrom, Laura, Vanessa Henjum

Erin, lounging on the comfy rocks.

So, some friends of ours from College decided to come up for a 'Girls Weekend', and I forced them to do manual labor.

We painted the trim, walls and ceiling (not easy) and ripped up the carpeting on the stairs and upstairs hall.

Brian was good enough to take the kids to Roch for the weekend, which made our job a lot easier.

Before: Pannels were painted blue, walls had wall paper and ceiling had water damage, popcorn, and a few cracks.

Vanessa painting door.

Erin and I ripping up carpet upstairs.

Leslie removing wood/nails from where carpeting was nailed down.

AFTER: stairs had previously been painted black with white rises. We'll probably do the same when we have time.

Green walls and wood floors. Very dusty!!

ABOVE: Entry way. Door is completely white now (instead of blue pannels.)

more green walls and bare stairs. Notice pannels along stairs are now white instead of blue.

Before, the ceiling above the rail/stairway had popcorn and water damage. Brian and I scraped the popcorn off in one afternoon. Brian mudded it, and I painted it with Kilz. This was particularly hard because the ladder we had didn't reach and we had to get creative/dangerous.

This is the hall, looking out from the door to the Attic.

Meet the Cats

Liam pushing Pumpkin around in shopping cart.

Liam holding Pumpkin. Pumpkin actually lets the kids do what they want. He's very docile for the most part.

I walked in and found Charlotte reading to Pumpkin one night. The cat actually seemed entertained.

We actually adopted Pumpkins mother Lilly, but she's camera shy.

Charlottes Swim Class

We put Charlotte in Swim Classes at the YMCA and she absolutley loved it!!! She was always the first to volunteer for everything and she had absolutely no fear. Which is both a good and bad thing.

They basically held their hands and dragged them on their stomachs through the water.

Charlottes instructor pulling her. She's holding on to milk cartons to use as floatation devices.

The instructor had to tell her to stay on the side and not jump in.

Singing a song about fishes.

Making friends.

Charlotte, waiting to get in the pool. I had to drag her away from the edge several times.
