Raise the Woof!

This past Saturday Brian had softball practice and I really wanted to get the kids out of the house. So... we went to Coggin Park to support Raise the Woof! It was a fundraiser benefitting the Humane Society. Any one in town was invited to come and play games and pet puppies. They had a "kissing booth" where you could donate spare change to kiss a pup, and they had bake sales, a dog show, and even dog Karaoke.

In the past Charlotte loved dogs (she used to run right up to them, which made me very nervous). As she's gotten older, she has become more hesitant and when dogs approach her she says "See Bite". She assumes every animal/insect/person that approaches her is going to bite her. We don't know why.

Liam loved the dogs. I held a puppy up to him and he grabbed it away and hugged it close. It was so cute. He tried to mimick every little bark he heard, and he even participated in the kissing booth!
After spending a morning at the park, we went to the Runaway Train Cafe and had ice cream. Liam ate (almost) an entire grilled cheese sandwich by himself!

Fun With The Stroller!

This past weekend we bought a doll stroller for Charlotte. I had been wanting to get her one for a while, but Walmart was always sold out. I finally found one and we let Charlotte push it around the store for over and hour. She LOVED it!

Later in the day, Brian decided to take Charlotte with him to run an errand and I was surprised to see Liam bolt towards the stroller the second she left. He actually flung the baby doll in it and started pushing it around the living/dining room. It was the cutest thing ever. He's actually really good at pushing/walking with the stroller, which may be why he loves it so much.

Charlotte and Liam have been enjoying the warm weather, eating popsicles and playing outside. Which is good, because for the rest of the week, it is going to be stormy!

Spring Has Sprung!

Well April is here and the weather (for the most part) is beautiful. The sun is shinning, and the temperatures have varied slightly between 70 and 80 degrees. We have been taking full advantage of it by walking to the park and playing daily. Also we play in the back yard, and I have been hanging our laundry out in the sunshine to dry. (I get a nerdy satisfaction out of not using electricity.)

Charlotte and Liam have changed so much just in the last month. Liam is almost ten months old and has been giving us a run for our money. He loves to be outdoors. The minute a door opens he crawls as fast as he can to explore. Once he gets outdoors, it's hilarious. He doesn't like the feel of the grass, so he "crab walks" around. (Actually, we think he looks like a monkey!) Liam, (quite unlike Charlotte) is turning out to be our affectionate child. He loves to snuggle, and shows affection in one of two ways. He lays his head down on our chests, just momentarily. Also, when we ask him for a kiss, he crawls up to us (with open mouth) and pushes his face against ours. It's the cutest thing ever! He is fascinated with animals, and try's hard to mimic them. I've noticed that he trys hard to mimic our actions. I tried to put some overalls on him, (starting at the feet) and he was too wiggly. A few minutes later I caught him holding the overalls at his feet and trying to move his feet into them! Also, he has five teeth, and we are happy to report that he is a GREAT sleeper.

Charlotte is blossoming at an equally quick rate, which is both exciting and a little sad. She is very independant and wants to do absolutely everything by herself. Her vocabulary has exploded and she is becoming very good at putting together two and three word sentences. Her favorite thing to do is swing, or watch Spirit. (Which is a Disney movie about horses.) She is obsessed with animals and particularly loves horses and cows, though, we're not sure she knows the difference.
